Doncaster girl raises money and spreads a message of kindness

Ava Spowage didn’t want to attend her school, Willow Primary in Bessacarr’s super hero dress up day in just any old costume.
She decided to make her very own unique design.
The eight year old from Auckley wanted to become a beacon of kindness and so wrote messages all over her cape to put a smile on people’s faces.
Louise Staniland, Ava’s mum, said: “I’m very proud of her.

Hide Ad“I’ve always thought it was important to teach her that kindness is important.
“It’s great to see her get such a positive response back.”
Ava’s cape has messages such as ‘good vibes only’ and ‘believe in yourself’ written across it.
Ava said: “This year hasn’t been nice so kindness is important.”
This won’t be Ava’s last attempt to fundraise she has plans to litter pick in the future.
