Doncaster apprentices encourage others to apply for 1,000 new job roles at Amazon
The staff spoke as the nation marks National Apprenticeship Week 2021
Recruitment has started for 25 different apprenticeship schemes ranging from engineering to broadcast production, creative digital design to health, safety and environment technician.

Hide AdThe roles pay a minimum of £9.70 an hour in Doncaster up to £30,000 a year for degree-level apprenticeships.
Emilio Calderon from Doncaster who is an Operational Improvement apprentice working at Amazon’s iPort fulfilment centre.
After school, Emilio started work in a new restaurant in Doncaster and worked his way up to a manager role until he felt he couldn’t progress any further.
“If I had some advice about the apprenticeship, it would be to stay determined, positive and focused. There is always something new happening every day, no day is the same.”

Hide AdJacques Hugo is an Operations IT apprentice working at Amazon’s fulfilment centre on Watervole Way in Doncaster.
The former supermarket worker saw an Amazon IT apprenticeship story in a newspaper and applied.
He said: “I have always been passionate about IT, but I never considered an apprenticeship before so when I saw this advert, I thought it was a great opportunity to start a career in IT. It is the single best thing I have ever done for myself.”
Applications are now open for Amazon’s apprenticeship programme.
