Beauty salons along with tattoo parlours were given the green light to reopen up and down the UK this week and such businesses are gradually reawakening across Doncaster.
It might be a slightly different experience from what you’re used to, though- as salons have had to implement strict new measures to ensure the safety of both customers and staff.

She said: “We have screens across desks for nail treatment and have also invested in dust extraction &and air sterilisation systems to ensure the salon is a safe working environment.
“Each staff member will be wearing masks and visors and we are asking clients to wear masks too, if they are able to.
“Deep cleaning is going to be carried out to each treatment room and nail desk after every client.

Michelle urged anyone wanting to book in at a salon to ‘do some research’ to ensure the business has all the necessary measures in place to protect themselves and their clients.
“Ensure the desk where you’re having treatments is socially distanced,” she said.
"Salons are clean, sterile places naturally and a lot of the guidelines we have been given should have been carried out anyway.

Staff at The Beauty Spot, Woodlands, said they were ‘so happy’ to be back and ‘looking forward’ to seeing clients for the first time since March.
A staff member said: “We have screens on nail desks, hand sanitiser stations throughout the salon, a one way system and PPE.
"We would like to reassure clients that their safety is our main concern and we want them to feel comfortable being back here having their beauty treatments.”
